HandHand : Origami Fish

Origami Fish

Items needed:
Paper
Scissors
Glue
Googly eyes (optional)

Step 1:
You need a square piece of paper.

Step 2:Fold it into a triangle. Then fold it half again to get a crease line.

Step 3:
Fold both corners to the centre point. You will get a diamond shape.

Step 4:
Then fold the corners up to meet the other centre point.

Step 5:
Fold both corners outward.

Step 6:
Fold the bottom triangle upwards. Make sure you do not fold all the way up. Leave some space.

Step 7:
Then fold the remaining edge which we have left in Step 6 upwards. This will form an extra strip in the centre.

Step 8:
Turn over and fold the botom triangle upwards.

Step 9:
This is a soldier's helmet.

Step 10:
Insert your fingers into the helmet. Open up the helmet and fold it side ways so that the two points from opposite sides meet.

Step 11:
Open up the back triangle and cut on both sides of the paper equally. Make sure you do not cut all the way through. Fold the triangle into its original position (following Step 8 - Step 10).

Step 12:
Make a crease at the back triangle. Note that the crease should be made from the point where the slit which was cut in Step 11 stops.

Step 13:
Open up the back triangle and Fold it to the right where the crease marks are. This will form the fish's tail.

Step 14:
You can draw a pair of eyes to stick it onto the fish or put a pair of googly eyes.

You have a fish!!!

Make it in different colours and sizes. You can make a fish mobile by stringing it or hang it as a decoration.
